Soroa to San Diego de los Baños
March 26th, 2008
Next day we had a look around the Orchidarium before setting off on the bikes.
After a ride down the hill, we rode along the freeway. It's not quite the same as riding along a freeway at home. For a start, there's a distinct lack of vehicles....
Once we turned off the freeway we went through some small townships....
And stopped at the local greengrocer for some bananas...
We didn't pick up anything from the butcher however....
Later we stopped for coffee at a locals house...
All of the houses we went in had the same layout - left hand side had the lounge/dining room, kitchen out the back, and bedrooms to the right.
This is the family that lives in the house.
We foreign cyclists were a bit of a novelty for the local cyclists. I think it might have been because we weren't wearing gum boots!
In Cuba, we came across ox drawn carts all over the place.
Later that night, we went to cigar makers in San Diego de los Baños and saw how a cigar is made...
And once it was complete, Rob was the first one to test it out (and the one to finish it off!)
Dilys looks like the conssumate smoker here, but it's all a show!
