Cuba Cycle Tour
March 23rd-April 6th, 2008
When people heard I went to Cuba, one of the first questions always seemed to be "Do they really have all those old American cars?" Well, yes, they do. To keep them running however, they have had the original engines replaced with diesel engines. Along with the iconic old American cars, there are also a lot of oldish Russian cars, and then there are newer European cars.
The other common question was about the people. The people are happy, friendly and generous.
In Havana, the locals congregate along the Malecón.
And the kids play in a fountain.
There are the ubiquitous Cuban cigars....
Fresh fruit an veges are sold by local growers in little stalls along the roads....
And Che is everywhere...
On the postcards...
And even from the churches....
For a good quick overview of Cuba, this YouTube video is not bad.
